Airbiquity Reveals Connected Services Solutions

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)--

Airbiquity (www.airbiquity.com), a global leader in wireless connected services, today introduced its new Connected Services platform for portable navigation, embedded telematics and head-unit device manufacturers which, combined with innovative business models, showcases the most flexible, cost-effective and reliable global eco-system of content and services available in North America, China and Europe.

Airbiquity conducted comprehensive market research studies to determine which services drivers want and need and used these in-depth consumer insights to build flexible service options that span Safety & Security, Maintenance & Care, Productivity & Efficiency, Luxury & Convenience and Entertainment & Fun categories, covering nearly 50 individual services. Many of these categories will be showcased on a PND and Embedded device reference platform at CES 2009.

Among the services that will be demonstrated are:

Dynamic Weather Reports: Stay up to date with current weather conditions and weather forecasts at your current location or a destination of your choice.

Dynamic Gas Prices: Search for and navigate to local gas stations with the best prices.

Local Searches of POIs and Business Listings: Find exactly the right store, restaurant or park from your current location with a quick, connected search.

POI download from Web Portal: Map out your favorite locations online, store them in your customized web portal and wirelessly transfer them to your car or device. No need to manually sync devices.

Operator-Assisted POI Download: Speak directly with a live operator to locate the nearest points of interest and have POI and location information sent directly to your GPS device. Easily navigate to your location while eliminating the need to unsafely type while driving.

IVR-Assisted POI Download: Say what you are looking for by interacting with an interactive voice response (IVR) system and receive POI and location information on your GPS device instantly.

Roadside Assistance: Get immediate help when and where you need it while traveling. Your roadside representative will know your location and even be able to retrieve diagnostic information from your vehicle.

Vehicle Diagnostics Reports: Retrieve critical vehicle diagnostics information from your car's electronic sensors wirelessly and manage your car's health from your personalized web portal or your navigation device.

Advertising: Receive useful and valuable merchant information from your favorite brands that help offset some of the content and services costs, and provide you with an out-of-the box experience rather than paying an expensive subscription.

Airbiquity will also display additional features on the embedded telematics side, including song tagging, email dictation, remote door unlock and vehicle health report applications.

"Our offerings this year truly encompass the many services savvy drivers desire today," said Kamyar Moinzadeh, president and CEO. "Never before has Airbiquity been able to bring so much choice to PND manufacturers and automotive OEMs. Our full suite of services translates into greater differentiation, giving devices and cars that attractive edge that so many perceptive consumers seek."

Members of the press are invited to see live demonstrations of Airbiquity's PND and embedded solutions at PEPCOM's Digital Experience! event, Wednesday, January 7 at The Mirage Hotel or at ShowStoppers on Thursday, January 8 at the Wynn Hotel. For a personal demo, please send a request to contact@airbiquity.com.
