SEH: SEH Paves Way to IPv6 for Epson Printers; Network Specialist SEH Unveils New Ethernet Printserver for Epson Printers and MFPs

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
RDATE:08122008

Bielefeld, Germany -- The German Network Printing Specialist SEH today
launches a new Printserver to attach all Epson printers with Type B
port to Ethernet / Fast Ethernet networks even more efficiently and
securely. PS107 is the first IPv6-enabled internal print server
worldwide for these printers. In the course of changing the tried and
trusted SEH IC product series to the more powerful PS series PS107
replaces the precursor model IC107-FAST-EPSON- TX. The enhancements of
the PS series include, among other things, the latest security
standards as well as a faster processing of encrypted print jobs. The
PS107 print server is available as of now for 267 Euro (excluding VAT).

The imminent shortage of IP addresses due to IPv4 causes the new
protocol IPv6 to spread out fast. It will be established as a global
standard in the near future and is already mandatory in the USA, Japan,
and many European countries when it comes to new investments in network
components for the public sector, in research and development, and many
industries. The IPv6-enabled model PS107 allows to attach all Epson
printers and MFPs with Type B interface to this standard.

Secure and Bandwidth-Optimized

The new model is equipped with the latest ThinPrint technology for
bandwidth optimization and control. With the help of this technology
print jobs are compressed to ensure and even boost network performance
in environments with server-based computing, desktop virtualization,
and all network infrastructures with frequent and voluminous print
jobs. Like all print servers of the PS series PS107 supports ThinPrint
SSL encryption. As to security PS107 offers TLS/SSL encryption and
access control. The device also utilizes the latest authentication
methods, such as EAP-TTLS, PEAP, and EAP-FAST, to safely access a
network.

PS107 is compatible with all common operating systems, among them
Windows, Apple Macintosh, Novell NetWare, and Linux. Regular software
and firmware updates, comprehensive support, and warranty.

  • Understanding the Voice of the Customer: Today's contact centers involve a sea of information that must be captured, processed, and distributed on a daily basis. Effective use of this information enables companies to remain competitive in an increasingly aggressive and customer centric marketplace. An overwhelming percentage of the information that circulates in a contact center's audio recordings, documents, web pages, and emails is unstructured in that it resides outside of a normal structured database and cannot be managed efficiently. These unstructured items contain valuable information, yet this information historically has been difficult to organize, categorize, and access.
