Nth Air, Inc. and Fujitsu Deploy WiMAX Network in Denver

DENVER --(Business Wire)-- Nth Air, Inc., a provider of next-generation wireless communication services, and Fujitsu Network Communications, a leading supplier of innovative optical and wireless networking solutions, today announced the launch of the Nth Air wireless broadband solution across Denver for delivery of high-capacity video, voice and data services. The WiMAX network is available for the 5,000 delegates and more than 15,000 members of the media expected to attend the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver next week. The wireless broadband network will allow users to have the same network experience as they would at their office and avoid any potential bandwidth bottlenecks from existing wireless networks due to the influx of people.

"Reporters or city officials and their staff members may simply not have time to head back to their hotels to file stories or transmit important information to each other," said Craig Niemeyer, chief executive officer and president of Nth Air. "By subscribing to our WiMAX service, they'll receive high-speed wireless Internet access directly from the convention center with the same kind of connectivity they'd get with their own networks at the office."

"We are excited about working with Nth Air to offer business-class wireless services to government officials and their staff, businesses, reporters, and others who plan to attend the DNC," said Jim Orr, principal network architect at Fujitsu Network Communications. "Our WiMAX solutions allow carriers such as Nth Air to work with one strategic partner for all of their broadband wireless requirements to help them deliver the leading-edge services for anytime, anywhere voice, video and data communications their subscribers want."

The fixed point-to-multipoint network will provide broadband wireless Internet data, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and video services for businesses and municipalities who can subscribe to the service during the convention and not be locked into a long-term contract. WiMAX-compliant point-to-point connectivity is also available to connect users staying at different hotels in wide area network configurations.

Nth Air provides completely integrated, end-to-end wireless broadband solutions from business-class connectivity to transport access, disaster recovery, professional services, and managed services. Up to 1 Gbps symmetrical, dedicated, scalable services are delivered to support subscriber needs. Nth Air is committed to extending the network reach of individuals and businesses that need to be connected any time, any place and anywhere.

Fujitsu delivers fixed and mobile WiMAX equipment and the professional services that support wireless network design, installation and provisioning. The Fujitsu WiMAX solution that Nth Air purchased operates in the 3.65 GHz spectrum, which is ideal for quickly deploying wireless broadband services to rural or underserved markets.

Fujitsu has an alliance with Airspan Networks (NASDAQ: AIRN) to market and support their portfolio of WiMAX solutions, including FCC-certified 3.65 GHz macrocells, picocells and customer premise equipment. This alliance is an extension of the co-development agreement in place to bring high powered mobile WiMAX base stations to the global market.

Effective use of this information enables companies to remain competitive in an increasingly aggressive and customer centric marketplace. An overwhelming percentage of the information that circulates in a contact center's audio recordings, documents, web pages, and emails is unstructured in that it resides outside of a normal structured database and cannot be managed efficiently. These unstructured items contain valuable information, yet this information historically has been difficult to organize, categorize, and access.
