Audit Thought Leader John Verver to Speak at The IIA's International Conference on July 7

VANCOUVER, British Columbia --(Business Wire)-- ACL Services Ltd., the leading global provider of technology for audit and compliance professionals, announced today that John Verver, vice president, alliances and product strategy, will present at The Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) International Conference 2008 at San Francisco's Moscone Center, July 6-9.

Verver, an acknowledged expert and thought leader on continuous controls monitoring and audit analytics, will co-present with Steve Henchock, principal, Deloitte & Touche LLP. Their presentation, "The Future of Internal Audit: Strategic Application of Audit Analytics," will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Monday, July 7, at the Moscone Center.

Based on comprehensive studies by thought leaders, including the Big Four and The IIA, the session will focus on audit analytics as an enabler in the broadening role of internal audits. Topics to be covered include how current technology is pushing the use of data analysis tools into earlier stages of the audit cycle, allowing managers and team leaders to access data and plan the audit based on initial analysis of risks. It also will cover ways to leverage resources and automate procedures for increased productivity and highly efficient processes for ongoing assessment of risk management and controls effectiveness.

"It's time for the internal auditors to integrate audit analytics throughout the audit cycle, from ad hoc through to continuous, to ensure better audit coverage," said Verver, a frequent speaker at global audit and control conferences, and an inaugural member of the Center for Continuous Auditing's advisory board. "Leading audit departments are relying more than ever on the strategic use of audit analytics techniques to add value to their organizations."

ACL also will host Booth 507 at the Moscone Center, featuring a live demonstration of their new managed analytics platform for audit, ACL AuditExchange 2009, which enables audit best practices, improves collaboration and productivity across audit teams, and enhances data access and security.

Celebrating its 67th year, The IIA's International Conference is the world's largest gathering of internal auditors and is expected to draw thousands of professional internal audit practitioners from dozens of countries.

  • Understanding the Voice of the Customer: Today's contact centers involve a sea of information that must be captured, processed, and distributed on a daily basis. Effective use of this information enables companies to remain competitive in an increasingly aggressive and customer centric marketplace. An overwhelming percentage of the information that circulates in a contact center's audio recordings, documents, web pages, and emails is unstructured in that it resides outside of a normal structured database and cannot be managed efficiently. These unstructured items contain valuable information, yet this information historically has been difficult to organize, categorize, and access.
