Aptela Names Larry Barker Chief Executive Officer

VIENNA, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Aptela, Inc., a leading business VoIP and hosted communications provider, announced today that Larry Barker has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company.

"We are excited about the future of Aptela under Larry's leadership," said Alan Peyser, chairman of Aptela's board of directors and former CEO of Cable and Wireless. "Larry's strong background in driving new ventures to profitability makes him a natural fit to lead us in this high growth market."

Mr. Barker draws upon more than 25 years of broad leadership experience, with expertise in Sales & Marketing. Prior to joining Aptela, Barker served as Chief Executive Officer of Argent Networks Ltd., where he led all aspects of the company's growth.

Previously, Barker served as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Visual Networks, President of the Software Division at ADC Telecommunications, and President of the Telecommunications Software Division at CSC.
