VoIP Magazine Names Empirix ''Company to Watch'' in 2006; VoIP testing and monitoring leader singled out for ability to improve Quality of Service from end-user perspective

BEDFORD, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 5, 2006 -- Empirix(R) Inc., the leading provider of testing and monitoring solutions for VoIP, contact center and Web technologies, announced today that it has been named to the "VoIP Magazine 20: Companies to Watch in 2006" list. The VoIP Magazine 20 features the companies that are best positioned to spur IP communications adoption and innovation in the coming year while, at the same time, delivering on the immediate needs of the marketplace.

Empirix made the list based on its extensive work helping network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises improve Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP networks and applications. Empirix's patented Hammer technology is a communications transaction engine that simulates callers, networks and devices to analyze end-to-end call performance and resolve potential problems before service is impacted. It can be used in both pre-deployment lab settings and in operational VoIP networks.

"Empirix is included on our Top 20 list because of the significant contribution the company is expected to have on the quality of VoIP solutions this coming year," said Bryan Richard, editor In Chief, VoIP Magazine. "Empirix has a decade-long history in the VoIP marketplace and a stellar reputation, and we think the best is yet to come."

Dan Potter, Vice President of Marketing at Empirix, noted that the company's VoIP testing and monitoring businesses are growing swiftly as service providers and enterprises are making QoS a higher priority. "For more than a decade Empirix has helped network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises roll out new technologies with confidence, including CTI, TDM/PSTN, VoIP, next-generation networks and now IMS architectures," said Potter. "We are very proud to have been recognized by VoIP Magazine for this honor."

Empirix's Hammer products are the industry's most widely used VoIP and TDM test solutions, as verified by four consecutive Frost & Sullivan market surveys.
